These are the rules for using Applylane, written to be read. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. How your data is handled is covered in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Applylane is a free, personal tool for keeping track of your own job applications. It isn't a job board, a recruiter or an employment agency, and it doesn't apply to jobs for you.
What you put in Applylane (applications, notes, resumes, contacts) stays yours. You give Applylane only the permission it needs to store it, show it to you and do what you ask with it, like reading forwarded emails or filling in details from a job link. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Only add information you have the right to keep. If you save details about other people, such as a recruiter's email address, keep it to what you need for your search.
Applylane uses AI to read job emails and pages and to suggest details, status changes and company websites. AI can get things wrong, so emails and imports are shown for you to review first. Jobs saved with the browser extension go straight onto your board, so give their details a quick look. Check details that matter (dates, salaries, job links) before relying on them.
The optional Chrome extension saves job pages you're looking at, and jobs you apply to, onto your board. It only reads pages you can already see, and never fills in or submits anything for you. Use it only on sites and accounts you're allowed to view, and within those sites' own rules.
Please don't:
Accounts that break these rules may be limited or closed. Where it's reasonable, you'll be told why and given a chance to export your data first.
Applylane is provided as it is, and is still growing. Features can change, and the app may occasionally be unavailable or lose data despite backups, so keep a copy of anything important with Export CSV. Some features have daily limits so the app stays free and fast for everyone.
To the extent the law allows, Applylane isn't responsible for indirect losses from using it, such as a missed deadline or a lost opportunity. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.
You can stop using Applylane at any time, and delete your account and all its data from Account → Delete account. See the Privacy Policy for what that removes.
If these terms change, the date at the top will change too, and significant changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use Applylane after a change means you accept the new terms.
